The Acorn Shovel is a Tier 1 Shovel used to harvest Clay, Sunken Bones, and Muddy Scales as well as digging up submerged Grubs, Larvae, Ladybird Larvae, and Antlions. It is a 1-handed tool. It cannot harvest greater nodes such as Chewed Gum or Buried Treasure, needing the Black Ant Shovel to do so.
