The Baby Fire Ant is a Tier 3 pet that will always spawn after feeding a Tasty Toejam Sandwich to the Fire Ant Queen. It does not require any slurry to tame and will automatically be tamed.
If the player chooses to feed the Fire Ant Queen the Poison Toejam Sandwich, the Baby Fire Ant cannot be obtained in that save unless New Game+ is started or progressed if the player is already in New Game+.
However, if the player's Baby Fire Ant dies you may return to the Fire Ant Queen and get a new one without feeding her again. But, if the player has gone into a New Game+ and has given the Fire Ant Queen a Poison Toejam Sandwich or Infected Toejam Sandwich, they cannot get another Baby Fire Ant.
It has 3 variants all obtained from the other ant queens, the Baby Red Ant and Baby Black Ant.
Behavior[]
The Baby Fire Ant will automatically become a pet when the player feeds a Tasty Toejam Sandwich to the Fire Ant Queen. The Baby Fire Ant behaves much like any other pet, being able to be pet, put in a Pet House, or equipped with Pet Attire. Unlike most pets, it also has a storage for the player of 20 slots of inventory space, effectively making it a mobile storage. It will also give the player +Attack when not in a Pet House, which will give the player increased damage by 25%.
The Baby Fire Ant can also be fed Spoiled Meat Slurry, despite not being tamed with it.
Unlike regular worker ants, the Baby Fire Ant will not steal and eat food from Jerky Racks, Roasting Spits or storage.
