The Black Soldier Ant is a creature found throughout the Black Anthill. It's similar to the Red Soldier Ant but is much stronger.

Behavior[]

Black Soldier Ants move relatively slowly on the ground. They rarely leave their anthill, but will rush out to defend nearby threatened Worker Ants or to patrol the area. If the number of Black Soldier Ants is reduced enough, Black Worker Ants will lay Black Ant Eggs in the deeper chambers of the Black Anthill. They have 3 attacks - a normal bite, a three bite combo and a charged bite that deals extra damage.

Interactions With Player[]

The Black Soldier Ant is hostile toward the player, and unlike Red Soldier Ants, Black Ant Armor nor Red Ant Armor does not turn them neutral.

Interaction With Other Creatures[]

Black Soldier Ants are neutral to and will defend Black Worker Ants when they are threatened by other creatures. They are aggressive to all creatures that come near their anthills and will defend it at all costs. If a Black Worker Ant is hurt and returns to the anthill, they may travel to the area were it was attacked to investigate the area, so it's recommended to kill Black Worker Ants when attacking to avoid this. They are passive to and will actively defend Dust Mites, likely due to the fact they share similar spawns and to stop them from killing each other.

Advanced Loot Table[]

This is a more advanced covering of the loot-table of Black Soldier Ant. Each item has an independent chance and count, in which the chance is the chance it can drop and the count is the amount of items that have that chance. If a count larger than 1 is in one section, then each item has an independent chance from one another (EX: Instead of getting say 2 of a resource, you can get 1 with a 70% chance and another with an additional 70% chance). In terms of Stealing, it can take one item from every section of the loot table, so even if a item count is say 5, the player will only steal one from that section.

Creature Loot Tables also tend to have large amounts of 1% items, which is intended to make stealing more rare items harder, as the player is more likely to steal the large amounts of 1% items than a singular 50% item.

Note: For consistency sake, all duplicate categories have a multiplier next to them, but function as unique loot types when say using Stealing.

Strategy[]

A lone Black Soldier Ant can easily be tackled with a tier 1-2 weapon and most armor, though a large swarm such as the ones found in the Black Anthill should be tackled with a level 1-5 tier 2 weapon such as the Stinger Spear or Red Ant Club. Getting a eyeshot with the Crow Crossbow can deal massive damage, but is difficult due to their small eyes. All of their attacks can be blocked, with their normal bite being tricky due to the short attack speed and little sound queues.
