The Blaster of the Moldy Matriarch is a Tier 3 unique ranged weapon crafted from parts of the Infected Broodmother. It takes the form of a infinite thrown fungus bomb, being near identical to the one used by the Mant boss. Once thrown, it will do small bounces off obstacles and is not sticky, eventually landing in place and exploding after 2 seconds. There is a small cooldown after a throw before the player can throw another bomb. The explosion will also harm the player if they are nearby, as well as giving any negative effects the players Armor, Consumables, or other Status Effects apply to enemies besides on mild. It can also harvest and destroy many Resource Nodes in the vicinity of its explosion, making it useful for resource harvesting.
If the Apex Predator mutation is enabled, is has a chance to spawn a puddle of infected water that gives increased Critical Hit Chance and Lifesteal.
It can also be used to harvest the Chewed Gum in the toolbox that gives the Sticky Fingers trinket.
Care should be taken when using it, as players are capable of damaging themselves with its blast. Damage taken can be reduced via the use of armor, Battle Buddies, a Sturdy Shell, or a Fungal Charm.
