Dead Root are an obstacle found throughout the Upper Grasslands area. They behave as an obstacle, similar to the Soggy Roots, and can be broken with a Scythe of Blossoms, Acid Edge, or Termite Axe. They give no loot when broken and purely serve as a barrier.
