The Diving Bell Spider is a hostile arachnid. Diving Bell Spiders are found underwater in the Koi Pond biome and in most Pond Caves. They swim around underwater and serve as one of the primary threats of the Koi Pond.
Behavior[]
Diving Bell Spiders swim underwater, commonly found alone, or in groups. They commonly wander the pond in search of prey to kill. When attacking, they have multiple single bite attacks, and lack any combos.
Interaction With Player[]
The Diving Bell Spider is immediately hostile to the player. A Diving Bell Spider attacks the player using its normal attack behavior. The spider has similar strength to an Orb Weaver and its attacks can deal a lot of damage, as players are likely using their head and leg slots for diving gear instead of their standard armor.
When killed, a Diving Bell Spider will replenish 35% of the player's oxygen meter, for a minimum of 60 seconds.
Interaction With Other Creatures[]
The Diving Bell Spider will commonly attack the passive creatures of the pond as a source of food. The most common of these are Tadpoles and Water Fleas, but will prioritize Water Fleas more than Tadpoles.
Advanced Loot Table[]
This is a more advanced covering of the loot-table of Diving Bell Spider. Each item has an independent chance and count, in which the chance is the chance it can drop and the count is the amount of items that have that chance. If a count larger than 1 is in one section, then each item has an independent chance from one another (EX: Instead of getting say 2 of a resource, you can get 1 with a 70% chance and another with an additional 70% chance). In terms of Stealing, it can take one item from every section of the loot table, so even if a item count is say 5, the player will only steal one from that section.
Creature Loot Tables also tend to have large amounts of 1% items, which is intended to make stealing more rare items harder, as the player is more likely to steal the large amounts of 1% items than a singular 50% item.
Note: For consistency sake, all duplicate categories have a multiplier next to them, but function as unique loot types when say using Stealing.

Strategy[]
Diving Bell Spiders are one of the most formidable foes of the pond, but most of their attacks can be easily blocked with weapons. Their charge attacks can be difficult to block due to their delayed attack speed, and delayed weapon block speed. When attempting to attack them, the player should have at least an upgraded Pebblet Dagger, or preferably the Spider Fang Dagger, Stinger Spear, or even the Rotten Stinger Spear in the pond to easily kill it.
Trivia[]
- Though not seen in-game, it is likely that the silk air bubbles on the plant life in the pond was weaved by Diving Bell Spiders.
- The Diving Bell Spider is based of the real life Diving Bell Spider. The only spider species know to live almost entirely underwater.
