Fresh Mint are Resource Nodes found in the many sparse areas around the map. These candies are branded "Ice Cap Mints." The ones in the Ice Caps Mint Container and Haze do not respawn while all others do, but may take some time. Eating the Mint Shards that it drops gives the Fresh Defense Mutation.

In New Game+, Fresh Mint variants have a chance to replace the spawns of Spicy Candy and Sour Candy, with "Mammoth Tusks" replacing Spicy Candy and "Deep Freeze" replacing Sour Candy. These Fresh Mint have the same drops, though Deep Freeze require a Black Ox Hammer to harvest due to replacing Sour Candy.

They have a low chance to drop the Suspicious Mint.
