The Haze Lab is one of the many labs scattered throughout the Backyard, located deep in a subterranean area of the Haze.
Description[]
The Haze Labs primary entrance is located on the surface of the Haze, located in the central-southern portion of the area. The lab itself is mostly underground, with some parts branching into what looks like a natural cave system with some water also being in the area. The lab itself is much smaller than any other lab in the game, though it strangely has no toxic gas like the outside area.
Walkthrough[]
Entering The Lab[]
To find the area, the player must enter the Haze, so they should bring a Gas Mask or some Gastro Goo smoothies to handle the deadly gas in the area and inside the lab. There are two entrances to the lab, each requiring different items. If the player plugs the Haze, then these items are not required for entry.
Main Entrance[]
The primary entrance of the lab is located in the center of the Haze, so it may be dangerous to venture into it due to the surrounding Creatures. The main door of the lab is blocked by a broken door that cannot be opened unless the player brings a Bratburst or Splatburst. Past this door is a Biometric Scanner that can be opened by holding on to the interact button when interfacing with it.
Pipe Entrance[]
The pipe entrance is the more difficult of the entrances, but doesn't require a bomb and completely avoids venturing into the Haze. The way to get in is to look for one of the Exposed Pipe landmarks located near the border with the Sandbox and the Haze. While a good portion of the area is submerged, there are air pockets in the top of the pipe, so a Gill Tube or Bubble Helmet is not needed. The pipes are also clogged with Soggy Root, so the player needs a Bone Dagger or Spider Fang Dagger to venture forward. The pipes are also full of Water Fleas and Diving Bell Spiders, so it is recommended to bring a decent water weapon. Having Fin Flops or the Merteen mutation allows the player to swim past them with ease. Eventually, the pipes will reach a intersection, in which the left side will lead to the lab and the forward path will lead to a Mega Milk Molar. Once at the end, the player will be in the center of the lab.
Exploring The Lab[]
When entering the lab via the main entrance, the path is fairly straightforward and will eventually lead to an intersection with some TAYZ.Ts. One path leads deeper into the lab while the other leads to a cave that leads to the pipe entrance. To navigate to the intersection from the pipe, go left and kill the cluster of Infected Weevils then enter the door. Once here, proceed down the hallway that goes deeper into the lab. This will lead to a display of mutations in Mushrooms that eventually lead to the fungus seen in the haze. From here proceed forward and pull the lever in the room. It will open a door near the pipe entrance. Simply navigate into the cave with the Infected Weevils and go to the water and enter the now open door. Past here will be a button in a room full of Haze Fungus that will lead to the last room. Be warned this room has many infected foes including a Infected Ladybug, so be ready for a fight.
Infected Ladybug Fight[]
In the last room, the door will close behind the player as soon as they enter, until they die or kill the Infected Ladybug. This Infected Ladybug has much more health than a normal Infected Ladybug, and can summon more amounts or stronger types of infected foes depending on the players in the arena and how strong they are. Killing the Ladybug also kills all the infected minions, and the door behind the player will open. The door to the BURG.L Chip needs to be opened with a Biometric Scanner, meaning all Creatures need to be killed to open it. Once the door is opened, there will be a small swarm of Infected Mites to fight with the Haze BURG.L Chip nearby. Make sure to loot the shelf next to the table, as it is easily missed and contains Bratbursts and Grumble's Granola Bars.
