The Infected Ant Queen is a unique creature found only in New Game+ after the player has infected a previous ant queen in either the base save before starting New Game+ or the previous New Game+. She gives unique items if fed.
Creating[]
To create a Infected Ant Queen, the player has to feed an ant queen its respective "infected" offering variant. This includes the Infected Mushroom Sandwich for the Red Ant Queen, the Infected Gum Sandwich for the Black Ant Queen, and the Infected Toejam Sandwich for the Fire Ant Queen. Once fed the sandwich, the ant queen will die and the effects of a poisoned offering will follow normally, though a small notice in the corner of the screen will appear saying "You sense a ripple in an alternate dimension". Upon either entering New Game+ or the next New Game+ if already in one, the ant queen that was fed their respective infected offering will become infected for only that New Game+.
The Infected Mushroom Sandwich is the only infected offering that can be obtained in the base save, with the others only being obtainable once New Game+ starts.
Offerings[]
Unlike other ant queens, the Infected Ant Queen only accepts one offering, being the Moldy Hoagie. Unlike other ant queens, it can be fed mutliple times to unlock more new recipes. To unlock all new recipes, the player needs to feed a Moldy Hoagie to 3 different Infected Ant Queens. This means the player can only unlock everything in NG+3, as the Infected Gum Sandwich and Infected Toejam Sandwich recipes only spawn in New Game+1 and New Game+2 respectively.
Feeding the first queen unlocks the Sausager, Killbasa, Glowbasa Link, and more efficent recipes for the Bratburst, Splatburst, and Healbasa. Feeding the second queen will unlock the Glowbasa Wristband. Feeding the third and final queen will unlock the Glowbasa Necklace.
This will not affect Infected Ants or Infected Soldier Ants at all, and they will attack the player all the same regardless.
