The Infected Ladybug is a dangerous, infected creature found sparsely throughout the Haze biome. They are the most dangerous creature of the Haze biome and can be a formidable threat if fought.

Behavior[]

Infected Ladybugs wander throughout the Haze with no real goal in mind and will attack almost anything on sight. Their attacks can also be heard from a great distance, making their presence very known. They have three attacks when attacking, the normal bite that the ladybug has, the side-slam attack that the Ladybug has that can easily stun and greatly damage the player and their special infected variant attack. This attack includes firing 4 infected bombs at random directions that will later create a small explosion that may be inaccurate, but lethal. They can also buck the player off their back like the Ladybug if the player happens to jump on their shell.

Interactions With Player[]

Infected Ladybugs are extremely aggressive towards the player and will chase and kill them for a great distance. If the player kills the Infected Ladybug found in the Haze Lab, they will get the Truffle Tussle mutation.

Interaction With Other Creatures[]

Infected Ladybugs are hostile to all other creatures, excluding other Infected Creatures, to whom they are neutral until one inadvertently damages the other.

Haze Lab Encounter[]

The Infected Ladybug in the Haze Lab acts slightly different from other, natural spawns, behaving more like a boss. The player is locked inside with the ladybug when entering its room, and the ladybug also has the ability to spawn adds such as Infected Mites, Infected Larva can spawn in woah mode or if there are multiple players present. The amount of adds it can summon scales with the amount of players currently in the room. The ladybug also has a buffed amount of life, making it much beefier than normal Infected Ladybugs. Once it dies, all extra Infected Mites or Infected Larva will also die.

Advanced Loot Table[]

This is a more advanced covering of the loot-table of Infected Ladybug. Each item has an independent chance and count, in which the chance is the chance it can drop and the count is the amount of items that have that chance. If a count larger than 1 is in one section, then each item has an independent chance from one another (EX: Instead of getting say 2 of a resource, you can get 1 with a 70% chance and another with an additional 70% chance). In terms of Stealing, it can take one item from every section of the loot table, so even if a item count is say 5, the player will only steal one from that section.

Creature Loot Tables also tend to have large amounts of 1% items, which is intended to make stealing more rare items harder, as the player is more likely to steal the large amounts of 1% items than a singular 50% item.

Note: For consistency sake, all duplicate categories have a multiplier next to them, but function as unique loot types when say using Stealing.

Spread[]

After sealing the weed canister in the Haze using a Gum Nugget, Infected Ladybugs will spread to multiple mini-infected zones across the map after a few days. They include:

Strategy[]

Infected Ladybugs can be tricky to kill, so it is recommended to have at least a tier 2 weapon and a tier 1 or 2 set of Armor. A good choice of weapon is preferably the Red Ant Club or Insect Hammer. Their locations may be around other creatures, so it is recommended to lure them away or kill the creatures. Their normal side attack is fairly easy to block, but their bombs cannot be blocked without a shield and when they fire them, the player should sprint away until all 4 go off. Be sure to make sure of the general location of the bombs being launched, so the player doesn't end up charging into a bombs location.

New Game+ Haze Lab Strategy[]

In New Game+, any boss can become more difficult depending on the randomized modifier. In Whoa! and/or Multiplayer, this can get increasingly harder. Due to this boss only being tier two, it can be a relatively easy exception compared to most bosses.
