Ladybirds are an aggressive variant of the Ladybug found sparsely in the Shed Surroundings and in mass in the Upper Grasslands. They are distinguished from their neutral counterparts by an adjusted elytra pattern and reversed color-scheme. It is perhaps best to avoid them, as most of their resources can be gathered elsewhere with far less risk.

Behavior[]

Ladybirds behave in a similar manner to Ladybugs, roaming aimlessly and sleeping under Dandelions when they are nearby. They share all of the Ladybug's attacks, including the headbutt, shoulder tackle, charging attack, regeneration roar, and mounted attack, but also have a unique attack of their own in which they rear up on their back legs and lunge forwards at the player two times in a row. It is an extremely deadly attack and can do a lot of damage if not perfectly blocked.

Interactions With Player[]

Ladybirds, unlike Ladybugs, are aggressive to the player and will attempt to attack them.

Interactions With Creatures[]

Ladybirds share the same behavior as Ladybugs, attacking Aphids on sight and defending themselves when attacked from others. They are not aggressive to other creatures except for Aphids.

Advanced Loot Table[]

This is a more advanced covering of the loot-table of Ladybird. Each item has an independent chance and count, in which the chance is the chance it can drop and the count is the amount of items that have that chance. If a count larger than 1 is in one section, then each item has an independent chance from one another (EX: Instead of getting say 2 of a resource, you can get 1 with a 70% chance and another with an additional 70% chance). In terms of Stealing, it can take one item from every section of the loot table, so even if a item count is say 5, the player will only steal one from that section.

Creature Loot Tables also tend to have large amounts of 1% items, which is intended to make stealing more rare items harder, as the player is more likely to steal the large amounts of 1% items than a singular 50% item.

Note: For consistency sake, all duplicate categories have a multiplier next to them, but function as unique loot types when say using Stealing.

Strategy[]

Ladybirds are particularly strong compared to Ladybugs. When confronting them, tier 3 or 2 armor and upgraded tier 3 weapons are recommended. A Mint Mace is an amazing weapon choice for fighting them. Perfect blocking is vital, as a direct hit can stun the player even when shielded and leave them open to more attacks. This is especially relevant to their special double attack, which can instantly stun the player then quickly attack them again.

Trivia[]

  • The Ladybird's in-game design may be based on the Harlequin Ladybird.
  • Both "ladybird" and "ladybug" are synonymous, referring to the same family of beetles.
