The Meaty Gnat is a larger variant of the Gnat. They are found in the Trash Heap.

Behavior[]

Meaty Gnats behave very similar to their smaller variants, but are much slower and tend to fly much higher. They can also carry large amounts of items, but tend to hold clusters of Rotten Food. They also have a gaseous aura around them that will harm the player similar to large rotten foods. Wearing a Gas Mask or killing the gnat will remove the effect of their gas.

Interaction With Player[]

Like their smaller variants, the Meaty Gnat "boops" the player character. This can be dangerous due to the gaseous aura surrounding them. The fact that they carry large amounts of Rotten Food can be a good way to harvest large amounts of the item.

Behavior With Other Creatures[]

Meaty Gnats do not tend to interact with other creatures and also tend to fly very far from proximity of said creatures.

Advanced Loot Table[]

This is a more advanced covering of the loot-table of Meaty Gnat. Each item has an independent chance and count, in which the chance is the chance it can drop and the count is the amount of items that have that chance. If a count larger than 1 is in one section, then each item has an independent chance from one another (EX: Instead of getting say 2 of a resource, you can get 1 with a 70% chance and another with an additional 70% chance). In terms of Stealing, it can take one item from every section of the loot table, so even if a item count is say 5, the player will only steal one from that section.

Creature Loot Tables also tend to have large amounts of 1% items, which is intended to make stealing more rare items harder, as the player is more likely to steal the large amounts of 1% items than a singular 50% item.

Note: For consistency sake, all duplicate categories have a multiplier next to them, but function as unique loot types when say using Stealing.

Item Count Chance
Candy Cornlet 1 1%
Donut Chunk 1 1%
Gnat Fuzz 6 100%
Gnat Fuzz x2 1 1%
Raw Gnat Meat 3 100%
Rotten Food 1 1%

Strategy[]

Meaty Gnats may seem harmless at first, but their gas can be a major problem in the Trash Heap. To combat this, the player can use a Gas Mask, drink a Gastro Goo, put on the Toxicology Badge, or simply kill the gnat before it can approach the player, although for the gas to go away, the body of the meaty gnat has to be looted.
