Mint Shards are a resource harvested with an Insect Hammer or Black Ox Hammer from Fresh Mints. They can also be obtained as loot from Buried Treasure. They are mainly used in crafting Mint Globs, Mint Jewels, and Mint Arrows, but they can also be eaten to reduce the player's sizzle meter. Consuming Mint Shards contributes to the player unlocking and progressing the Fresh Defense mutation.
Once harvested, Mint Shards take 1 in-game day to respawn. Those harvested from Mint containers, the cup on the Shed's deck, or from in the Black Anthill Lab and Sandbox Lab Outpost do not respawn.
It can sometimes be obtainable as loot from the Holiday Tree, during December.
It can also be obtained from Easter Eggs in the month of April.
