Raw Science is a currency-like item that can be collected by the player in various ways. BURG.L explains that Raw Science is an elusive resource that has unknown properties and is a byproduct of both the experimentation and shrinking process. It can be used to buy blueprints or abilities from the Tech Chip Science Shop (accessed from the ASL Terminal) from BURG.L. It can be collected through quests, or can be found in a solid form in secret or hard to reach areas across the world. In the story, Raw Science is also very powerful, having the ability to make lifeforms more susceptible to rapid mutation. The known candidates to this mutation are the Haze Fungus and the Muscle Sprouts, with both their irregular appearances and qualities being caused by exposure to Raw Science.
