Red Ant Eggs are a resource obtained from Red Worker Ants only after they've dropped it on the ground in the Red Anthill. Alternatively, they can be taken directly from the egg chamber, deep within the Anthill. A large number of eggs can also be found in a small section of the Undershed. They do not shimmer like other typical items, so it is recommended the player brings a light source with them when in search of eggs.
When a Red Ant Egg is created, it will have a timer with 3 segments. Each segment represents 8 in-game hours. The eggs timers starts with one segment already filled, leaving 16 hours. Regardless of if it is on the ground or in an inventory, once the timer has finished, the egg will be destroyed and a Red Worker Ant or Red Soldier Ant will be spawned from it.
Red Ant Eggs will only spawn when the total number of Red Ants across the entire Backyard has not reached its maximum. More eggs are produced the lower the population is.

- Red Worker Ants will return any Red Ant Eggs found outside of the Anthill.
- This applies to all player storage spaces as well as a fallen player's backpack.
- If attempting to duplicate Bratbursts using the Super Duper, it is more efficient to duplicate Bratbursts themselves rather than the Red Ant Egg, as the Red Ant Egg costs 2,500 Raw Science, while the Bratburst only costs 1,000.
