The Slime Lantern is a one-handed Light tool. While in use, its durability will slowly decay over the course of 6 minutes. Once depleted the Slime Lantern will be destroyed. It can be used underwater.
A rotten variant of the Slime Lantern can be found in a Pond Cave in the Pond Depths located behind the lab wreckage.
An upgraded variant called the Slime Lantern+ can be purchased from BURG.L with Raw Science, replacing the original recipe. This doubles the Slime Lantern's durability; extending the light duration to 12 minutes.
