Water Boatman is a creature found in the Koi Pond Biome underwater. It usually swim around the edges of the pond and at shallow depths, and drops a Water Boatman Fin when killed.

Behavior[]

The Water Boatman will swim around the pond at random directions, and will periodically come to the surface to flip on its back and replenish its air bubble, located on the base of its body.

Interaction With Player[]

The Water Boatman is passive towards the player and will flee upon being attacked. If the player kills a Water Boatman, it will replenish their oxygen by 60 seconds, in which it shares this trait with the Diving Bell Spider.

Interaction With Other Creatures[]

The Water Boatman does not interact with other creatures, and other creatures don't interact with it.

Advanced Loot Table[]

This is a more advanced covering of the loot-table of Water Boatman. Each item has an independent chance and count, in which the chance is the chance it can drop and the count is the amount of items that have that chance. If a count larger than 1 is in one section, then each item has an independent chance from one another (EX: Instead of getting say 2 of a resource, you can get 1 with a 70% chance and another with an additional 70% chance). In terms of Stealing, it can take one item from every section of the loot table, so even if a item count is say 5, the player will only steal one from that section.

Creature Loot Tables also tend to have large amounts of 1% items, which is intended to make stealing more rare items harder, as the player is more likely to steal the large amounts of 1% items than a singular 50% item.

Note: For consistency sake, all duplicate categories have a multiplier next to them, but function as unique loot types when say using Stealing.

Item Count Chance
Algae x2 1 1%
Water Boatman Fin 1 100%
Water Boatman Fin x3 1 1%

Strategy[]

A Water Boatman can be killed relatively easily using any kind of dagger or other combat water tools, but it is recommended to attack it when it is moving slowly or is not moving at all to get multiple hits before it attempts to swim away.

Trivia[]

  • The Water Boatman in game appears to be based off the Lesser Water Boatman.
  • In real life, Water Boatmen feed on algae and other dead plants. They are harmless.
